A rare and heavily cast Chinese bronze incense-box, cover and stand, of square form, the pierced sides cast with panels of flowers and trellis-pattern, the fitted stand flaring outwards and pierced. Weight 1098g

Provenance: Hugh Gordon Lowder (1888-1978) who worked for the Chinese Maritime Customs Services in Shanghai 1908-1914 and 1918-1940.
